Teamwork and quality focus **Duties and Responsibilities:** Board industrial fishing vessels to monitor fishing operations (navigation, net deployment and retrieval) from the vessel’s bridge, and to record catch quantities and species, as well as collect samples on deck after each net retrieval; Strictly adhere to established protocols for data and information recording and biological material collection; Input collected data and information into electronic spreadsheets or computerized systems; Participate in other project-related activities during periods awaiting boarding. **Requirements:** Bachelor’s degree in oceanography, marine sciences, biological sciences, fisheries engineering, or related fields; OR technical diploma in fisheries/fishery resources; Experience boarding fishing or research vessels; Knowledge of commercial fishing, fishery resources, fishing technology, navigation, and electronic equipment supporting fishing and navigation. Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software; Ability to work effectively in teams, with strong interpersonal and communication skills across diverse audiences; Commitment to onboard safety, quality focus, adherence to deadlines and targets; Proactivity, flexibility, initiative, dynamism, punctuality, attendance, organizational sense, and respect for data and information confidentiality; **Availability:** Candidates must attend an in-person training course scheduled for the first half of March 2026 at Univali’s Itajaí campus, lasting up to five business days, followed by a technical competency assessment for hiring.
