Would you like to join us in the **Universe of Knowledge?** To learn more about **Vitru** and its brands Unicesumar and Uniasselvi, visit our website: https://www.vitru.com.br/. ### **About the Position: Laboratory Assistant** Support the operation and organization of laboratories across the Engineering and Architecture, Education, Management, and Communication Clusters, ensuring environment preparation, availability of materials and equipment, support for hands-on classes and academic activities, basic inventory control, and preservation of assets—with emphasis on safety, standardization (5S), prompt service delivery, and faculty and student experience. ### **Main Responsibilities** * Prepare laboratories for hands-on classes, including opening, spatial organization, verification of usability conditions, and logistical support. * Support faculty and classes during practical activities, guiding proper use of materials and equipment where applicable. * Assemble and disassemble kits and materials per class or activity (instruments, supplies, accessories, and teaching resources). * Ensure technical cleaning and post-class organization, including collection, verification, basic hygiene, and appropriate storage. * Monitor incoming and outgoing materials and equipment, ensuring traceability and use of responsibility agreements when required. * Organize and maintain minimum stock levels of consumables (technical stationery, prototyping materials, basic components, and support supplies for communication and education areas). * Request material replenishment and support procurement processes by reporting minimum quantities and demand- or semester-based needs. * Support laboratory asset inventory management, including labeling, periodic verification, and reporting of damages or losses. * Perform routine checklists (opening/closing, equipment and safety inspections) per institutional standards. * Support simple preventive maintenance, such as cable organization, external equipment cleaning, and replacement of basic items when authorized. * Report malfunctions, damages, and corrective maintenance requirements to the responsible department, issuing service requests and tracking resolutions. * Assist with logistics and organization of special academic activities, such as thesis defenses, presentations, workshops, events, and technical visits. * Support preparation of environments for practical assessments and sensitive activities, ensuring stability and availability of required resources. * Ensure compliance with laboratory safety regulations and best practices, including PPE usage, signage, storage, and proper disposal. * Monitor and guide responsible use of spaces, preventing waste, damage, and unauthorized use of materials and equipment. * Manage laboratory scheduling and reservations when applicable, ensuring academic priority and shift organization. * Support laboratory administrative routines, such as recordkeeping, attendance lists (when required), and simple consumption and incident reports. * Contribute to process standardization and continuous improvement by suggesting layout adjustments, discipline-specific standard kits, and material optimization. * Support integrative projects and extension activities linked to the clusters when required. * Maintain organized records in the institutional drive, including checklists, inventories, usage logs, incident reports, and requests. ### **Requirements** * Completed High School education. * Preferred: Currently enrolled in undergraduate studies (e.g., Building Construction, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Design, Multimedia, Administration, Pedagogy/Education, or related fields), aligned with the laboratory’s focus. * Preferred: Prior experience supporting laboratories, workshops, equipment maintenance, material organization, inventory management, or operational support. * Experience in educational settings (schools/institutions of higher education) or supporting hands-on classes/projects. ### **Knowledge and Skills** * Customer service orientation. * Administrative routine proficiency. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. * Clear and concise communication. * User support capability.
