Responsible for coordinating the operational activities of the sanitary landfill, ensuring proper disposal of solid waste in compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards. Act strategically in operational planning and control, focusing on resource optimization and process efficiency. Solid operational experience and knowledge in OPEX (operational expenses) and CAPEX (investments) management are essential to ensure the financial and operational sustainability of the facility. **Responsibilities and duties** * Coordinate the daily operation of the sanitary landfill, including waste reception, weighing, disposal, and compaction. * Manage operational teams (drivers, machine operators, environmental technicians, engineers, etc.), promoting development, engagement, and high performance. Support training implementation and conduct performance evaluations of subordinates. * Provide continuous feedback to team members and teams, promoting and facilitating professional development. * Monitor, analyze, and act upon key performance indicators (KPIs) related to operational and environmental performance (e.g., leachate control, biogas, geotechnical stability, landfill lifespan, environmental monitoring), developing, executing, and tracking action plans. * Develop and monitor the landfill operating plan and execution schedules, contributing to their proper implementation within established deadlines. * Coordinate outsourced service contracts and supplier agreements, ensuring adequate operational conditions and performing monthly service measurement reconciliations. * Support the control and optimization of operational materials and supplies, as well as inventory management at the facility. * Assist in controlling and analyzing OPEX (operational expenses), seeking efficient use of operational resources and achievement of unit targets. * Support the planning and execution of CAPEX (investments), proposing investments in equipment, improvements, and expansions aligned with company strategy and unit goals. * Support the preparation of the unit's budget for the following fiscal year, ensuring alignment with corporate strategic guidelines and performance targets. * Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of operational efficiency plans focused on cost reduction and revenue increase. * Operational Excellence: Continuously seek process optimization and improvement in waste management center operations. * Stay updated on new technologies and assess their applicability for operational improvements. * Promote and ensure full compliance with environmental agencies and applicable regulations (e.g., CONAMA, ABNT, occupational safety, state and municipal laws), as well as the accurate fulfillment of technical requirements/conditions from project licenses. Support the facility’s environmental licensing processes. * Identify, assess, and mitigate operational, environmental, and regulatory risks. * Prepare managerial and technical reports for presentation to senior management and environmental agencies. * Support corporate accountability processes and participate in internal and external environmental audits. * Support stakeholder engagement (environmental agencies, municipalities, communities, suppliers, customers, support departments, etc.). * Support transformation initiatives and continuous improvement efforts at the facility. * Promote and disseminate Veolia’s values and culture within the unit and serve as a role model. * Uphold the company's safety culture and its ethical and compliance principles. **Requirements and qualifications** Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Environmental, Civil, Chemical or related fields) Minimum of 1 year of operational management experience with team leadership **Desirable** Postgraduate degree in Environmental Management, Sanitary Engineering, Geotechnics or related fields Experience in sanitary landfill operations or related solid waste management areas Intermediate Spanish and intermediate English proficiency Experience in budgetary control (OPEX) and investment planning and execution (CAPEX), as well as knowledge of management tools (e.g., PDCA, 5S, 5 Whys) ### **Ready to renew the world?** **Hello, nice to meet you!** We are from Veolia Group, a global leader and reference in environmental solutions.
