The kitchen assistant is the chef's right-hand person, responsible for preparing ingredients (washing, peeling, cutting), organizing the workstation (mise en place), sanitizing utensils and equipment, and assisting in the final preparation of dishes—ensuring cleanliness, efficiency, and compliance with food safety standards during service. It is also highly important to handle all portioning of production, as well as storage and product shelf-life management.
