Description: About the Opportunity Dataside is supporting a strategic client in evolving its data model toward a modern, decentralized approach. We seek an experienced professional with strong consulting expertise and enterprise architecture vision to lead the initial phase of conception, structuring, and strategic guidance for the Data Mesh model. This role does not involve technical implementation at this early stage. It entails serving as the internal subject-matter authority, the topic’s spokesperson, and the guide responsible for supporting the organization in making correct decisions before advancing into execution. Responsibilities: * Act as a Data Mesh evangelist and consultant, disseminating concepts, best practices, and strategic guidance. * Lead the understanding, conception, and planning phase of the Data Mesh model, aligning expectations, assumptions, and business objectives. * Advise the organization on what should or should not be done during a mature Data Mesh adoption, bringing critical and practical insights based on prior experience. * Support defining organizational capabilities, roles, responsibilities, processes, and governance required to establish a decentralized model. * Identify risks, dependencies, and requirements prior to the start of technical implementation. * Provide architectural recommendations, standards, and frameworks to support the Data Mesh journey. * Facilitate cross-functional discussions, bridging business, technology, and data teams. * Develop executive materials, guides, and frameworks to support decision-making. * Monitor roadmap progress, ensuring strategic alignment among stakeholders. Mandatory Requirements: * Proven hands-on experience with Data Mesh, including conception, implementation, or governance of data domains. * Strong knowledge of data governance, including policies, processes, operations, and organizational models. * Experience as a Data Architect, Enterprise Architect, Data Strategist, or equivalent role. * Highly consultative profile, capable of translating complex concepts into clear guidance for executives and technical teams. * Experience with cloud-based data architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP). * Solid knowledge of Databricks, including best practices, governance, usage models, and integration with data ecosystems. * Experience in corporate environments requiring cross-departmental integration, decentralization, and development of organizational capabilities. * Solid understanding of data engineering, quality, interoperability, and data management best practices. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience with large-scale data operational models (e.g., Data Mesh, Data Fabric, data domains). * Track record of involvement in organizational transformation projects or data platform restructuring. * Experience in regulated industries. * Ability to facilitate workshops, training sessions, and technical evangelization initiatives.
