




Blumenau, Brazil Permanent 80-100% On-site Provide direct support to the Sorting and Rice Solutions business unit with a focus on optical sorters, ensuring that the new product and technology development plan is executed according to the scope, budget, timelines, performance, and quality standards defined by Product and Project Managers, collaborating closely with teams in London, China, and India to achieve operational excellence in global R&D. This is where you will shine * Responsible for managing the R&D team at Bühler Blumenau, ensuring the creation and execution of strategic plans in alignment with the Business Unit’s direction and approval regarding research into new technologies, development of new products, and lifecycle management of machines; * Plan and organize activities and workflows efficiently based on project demands, providing detailed schedules and regular follow-ups to ensure timely and high-quality delivery; * Balance available resources between executing Bühler Group's strategy and implementing improvements such as test jigs development, cost reduction initiatives, resolution of quality issues, and customer complaints, among other aspects; * Promote collaboration between local and global R&D teams, as well as cooperation with other departments within the organization according to established demands and priorities; * Actively and effectively integrate the managerial team at Bühler Blumenau, participating actively in meetings and providing updates on ongoing projects, as well as new technological and functional perspectives of machines; * Continuous interface and alignment with Sales, Marketing, Production, Customer Service (CS), and other teams, ensuring support and critical analysis of change/improvement requests based on local market requirements (South America), manufacturing needs (such as ease of assembly, standardization, etc.), and feedback on current machine conditions in the field; * Attract, develop, and retain talent, building a high-performance team with an innovative mindset, encouraging a culture of continuous learning and development through periodic feedback; * Ensure the creation and sharing of accurate technical data, such as test procedures, change validation reports, machine manuals, instructions for field machine upgrades, etc.; * Monitor KPIs, control budgets (CAPEX and OPEX), and project short-, medium-, and long-term goals, ensuring regional strategies (South America) are aligned with Group planning and guidelines; * Commitment to company quality programs and tools, performance indicators, and other current initiatives; * Ensure compliance with applicable workplace safety regulations, directives, and equipment standards; * Perform other related tasks as required by departmental and company needs. Knowledge / Experience * Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering (preferred), Mechanical, Control and Automation, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields; * Postgraduate degree or MBM in Human Resources Management or related areas will be an advantage; * Advanced English (especially conversation); * Experience with ISO 9001; * Experience with NR12 and machine and device safety; * Basic knowledge of tax incentives (ex-tariff, FINAME, Lei do Bem, etc.) will be an advantage; * Knowledge of international product certifications such as CE, UL (NRTL), ATEX, HazLoc, among others, will be an advantage; * Minimum of 5 years of experience in the industrial sector, preferably mechanical-metallic; * Minimum of 2 years of experience in management roles (leadership, coordination, supervision); * Previous experience in medium/large multinational companies with a matrix hierarchical structure.
