Determines and develops architectural approaches and solutions, conducts business reviews, documents current systems and develops recommendations of how to proceed with the applications.**This role in summary** ------------------------ Whirlpool is looking for a qualified candidate for the role of **Sr Analyst cloud FinOps** to join the Global Compute COE. As a Cloud FinOps Sr Analyst, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations related to cloud computing within the organization. Your role involves optimizing cloud usage, managing costs, implementing budget controls, and ensuring cost\-efficient strategies across cloud services and resources. You will collaborate with IT teams, finance departments, and cloud service providers to maximize cost\-effectiveness while meeting business objectives. As a Cloud FinOps Sr Analyst, your role is pivotal in optimizing cloud spending, managing budgets, and driving cost\-effective practices across the organization's cloud infrastructure. By implementing FinOps principles, fostering cost\-conscious behaviors, and leveraging financial insights, you contribute to maximizing the value of cloud investments while ensuring financial sustainability and efficiency. **Your responsibilities will include** -------------------------------------- This role focuses on optimizing and controlling cloud costs through a comprehensive approach that encompasses technical analysis, financial management, governance, and vendor collaboration. #### **1\. Cloud Cost Optimization** Analyzes cloud usage and resource utilization to find savings opportunities. Key strategies include: * **Rightsizing:** Matching instances to the actual workload. * **Reserved Instances:** Committing to long\-term usage for discounts. * **Storage Optimization:** Deleting unnecessary data and using the most cost\-effective storage classes. #### **2\. Financial Management** Manages the entire financial lifecycle of cloud costs: * **Planning:** Developing budgets, forecasts, and cost allocation models. * **Tracking:** Monitoring expenses, analyzing trends, and comparing them against budget targets. * **Reporting:** Creating dashboards and financial reports to inform stakeholders. #### **3\. Cost Control and Governance** Establishes the rules for financially responsible cloud usage: * **Policies:** Defining guidelines and best practices to control spending. * **Compliance:** Implementing a governance framework to ensure budgetary limits are respected. * **Tagging:** Using tags to group resources and accurately allocate costs to the corresponding teams or projects. #### **4\. Vendor Management** #### **Manages the relationship with cloud service and support vendors (like TCS and Accenture):** * **Negotiation:** Collaborating with providers to secure better pricing, discounts, and contractual terms. * **Evaluation:** Analyzing contracts and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to maximize value. * **Oversight:** Monitoring vendor performance and billing accuracy. #### **5\. Cost Awareness and Training** Fosters a cost\-aware culture throughout the organization: * **Education:** Training IT teams and developers on FinOps practices and efficient resource usage. * **Advocacy:** Conducting workshops and awareness programs to promote cost\-conscious behaviors. #### **6\. Continuous Improvement** Constantly seeks ways to make cost management more efficient: * **Automation:** Implementing tools and scripts to automate tasks like cost analysis and budget enforcement. * **Innovation:** Staying updated on the latest industry trends, tools, and optimization techniques. **Minimum requirements** ------------------------ High School Diploma or GED with 5\+years experience as a Network/Cloud/Infrastructure Engineer * 1\+ year(s) of professional experience in public cloud (Google Cloud Platform / Amazon Web Services / Microsoft Azure) 2\+ year(s) of technical experience with administering Windows and/or Linux operatingsystems 1\+ year(s) of experience with architecting/deploying/operating infrastructure solutions **Preferred skills and experiences** ------------------------------------ Preferred Skills and Requirements Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree or certifications like AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals, or GCP Associate Cloud Engineer are beneficial). Proven experience in financial management, cost optimization, or cloud financial operations. Strong understanding of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their pricing models. Knowledge of FinOps principles, cloud cost management tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, Google Cloud Billing), and cost analytics. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and make data\-driven recommendations. Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills. Project management skills to drive initiatives, track progress, and achieve cost\-saving goals.
