The Data Scientist’s role here extends beyond model building—it involves transforming complex data into robust, transparent, and auditable analyses capable of supporting critical decisions within a rigorous regulatory context. The focus lies on developing analytical and statistical models with high explainability, meeting regulatory authority requirements and ensuring every decision can be clearly justified, reviewed, and audited when necessary. Day-to-Day Challenges On a daily basis, this person will explore large volumes of data from the data lake to identify patterns, atypical behaviors, and potential risks. These models and analyses support decisions related to account opening, transactional monitoring, and risk assessment—always with special attention to clarity and traceability of conclusions. The studies developed must provide objective and verifiable justifications for scenarios such as: Account opening across multiple channels Analysis of financial transactions (PIX, TED, Wire, TEP) Customer behavioral changes Identification of potential indicators of front-running and market manipulation To ensure these models deliver real impact, the professional will collaborate closely with Software Engineering, supporting model implementation in production and ensuring analytical solutions align with both technical and regulatory requirements. Additionally, the ability to structure clear, well-documented analyses serving as the basis for regulatory decisions and cross-functional business discussions is essential. Technical Requirements We seek candidates with a university degree, preferably in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, or related fields, and a solid foundation in mathematical and statistical modeling. Practical experience is essential in: Python for data analysis and modeling Advanced-level Excel Data extraction and analysis from data lake Structuring objective, clear, and well-founded analyses Relevant Differentiators Prior experience in the financial sector or regulated environments will be considered a significant advantage, as will experience with explainable modeling techniques such as interpretable regressions, decision trees, or SHAP.
