Job Summary: A professional responsible for planning, scheduling, and controlling cargo and vehicles—optimizing routes, ensuring delivery deadlines, and reducing costs. Key Highlights: 1. Strategic involvement in fleet and cost management. **Position: Cargo Scheduler / Logistics Programmer** **Job Mission** Plan, schedule, and control cargo and vehicles for both owned and affiliated fleets, ensuring route optimization, adherence to delivery deadlines, and reduction of operational costs—while aligning commercial, operational, and legal requirements. **Main Responsibilities** * Receive and analyze transportation orders, defining priorities and deadlines. * Schedule cargo based on fleet and driver availability. * Develop and adjust routes, considering distance, time, legal restrictions, and costs. * Ensure compliance with driver working-hour regulations (Driver’s Law). * Monitor trip status and make necessary adjustments to the schedule. * Maintain contact with drivers to coordinate itineraries, schedules, and changes. * Record and update information in the logistics management system. * Analyze performance indicators (on-time deliveries, vehicle utilization, costs). * Collaborate with commercial and operational departments to align requirements and deadlines. * Prevent and resolve contingencies such as delays, vehicle breakdowns, and vehicle unavailability. **Requirements** * Technical or undergraduate degree in Logistics, Administration, or related fields (preferred). * Prior experience in cargo scheduling, logistics, or transportation. * Proficiency in logistics management systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office suite. * Familiarity with transportation regulations and driver working-hour legislation. * Ability to read and interpret maps and routing plans. * Flexibility to work non-standard hours, according to operational demand. **Technical Competencies** * Planning and organization of cargo loads. * Monitoring of driver working hours. * Cost analysis and route optimization. * Management of data within a TMS. * Clear and concise communication. **Behavioral Competencies** * **Attention to detail:** prevent errors in scheduling and deadline adherence. * **Decision-making agility:** respond rapidly to unforeseen events. * **Performance under pressure:** maintain effectiveness even during critical situations. * **Communication and relationship-building:** efficient interaction with drivers, clients, and team members. * **Proactivity:** anticipate issues and seek solutions. * **Flexibility:** adapt to operational changes.
