Job Summary: The professional will operate lathes and vertical lathes, machine medium-complexity parts, sharpen cutting tools, and perform basic maintenance. Key Highlights: 1. Operate lathes and vertical lathes for machining various parts. 2. Sharpen cutting tools and perform minor maintenance on equipment. 3. Apply knowledge of mechanical drawing interpretation and advanced machining. **Responsibilities:** Sharpen cutting tools appropriately to meet machining requirements. Select and identify materials and tools for part machining. Operate lathes to machine various medium-complexity parts according to drawings, sketches, or samples; initiate operations by activating mechanisms to bring cutting tools into contact with the workpiece and advance them along it as programmed. Read and interpret standards, procedures, specifications, drawings, measuring instruments, and/or general instructions regarding tasks to be performed. Exercise self-control in each operation/task, observing established technical parameters, evaluation frequency, and expected results as described in operational standards, visually and/or using measuring equipment, recording results when necessary. Monitor and perform minor maintenance, repairs, and cleaning on machines, equipment, and/or the workplace to ensure they remain in optimal working and usable condition. Operate Vertical Lathes.
