Generally, the kitchen assistant works under the supervision of a chef or head cook, ensuring that everything is prepared and ready on time for dish preparation. Key responsibilities include: * **Food Preparation**: Assist in the pre\-preparation of ingredients (washing, cutting, peeling, chopping), organizing them so chefs can use them in recipes. * **Cleaning and Organization**: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, washing utensils, pots, pans, plates, and ensuring sanitization of countertops and work surfaces. * **Support to Chefs**: Assist chefs with plating, last\-minute requests, and food quality control. * **Ingredient Storage**: Assist in proper ingredient storage, checking product expiration dates and maintaining an organized inventory. * **Waste Disposal**: Handle proper separation and disposal of waste, following hygiene and food safety regulations. * **Equipment Management**: Assist with basic kitchen equipment maintenance, ensuring all equipment remains in good working condition.
