Description

Job Summary: Operates asphalt vibratory finishers to apply asphalt mix, inspects and maintains equipment, and guides the material discharge process. Key Highlights: 1. Operate asphalt vibratory finishers and equipment from various manufacturers 2. Inspect and perform basic maintenance on equipment 3. Control alignment and complete production reports * Operate the asphalt vibratory finisher to apply asphalt mix onto prepared road surfaces; * Inspect equipment before startup, conduct tests, and check for any irregularities; report findings to the Asphalt Mix Supervisor for appropriate action to prevent escalation; * Operate equipment for material distribution while monitoring alignment to avoid wavy or poorly finished work; * Guide the material handler during material discharge and reverse coupling of the equipment; indicate marking requirements and need for increased dump body tilt to ensure proper material supply; * Control machine alignment during asphalt mix placement on roadways; * Meet production demands according to the established schedule, including production, storage, and truck loading; * Complete daily production reports specifying activities performed, operating time, downtime, number of trips, and relevant observations; * Perform basic equipment maintenance, checking oil, fuel, and water levels to ensure proper operation; * Coordinate with the material handler regarding activity duration; * Operate equipment from various manufacturers; * Record equipment usage information; Report service incidents and equipment issues identified.
