As a **Software Engineer** at Mercado Livre, you will design and scale innovative and secure systems that solve real-world, high-impact problems. You will work in a dynamic environment leveraging cutting-edge technology, engineering best practices, proprietary AI models, and continuous learning—all aimed at democratizing e-commerce and financial services across Latin America. Imagine\-yourself leading challenging, dynamic, and innovative projects and **being responsible for:** * Collaborating with the Cloud and Platform team, gaining broad visibility into the development of our internal platform and exposure to cross\-Meli impact projects. * Designing and implementing solutions to address high-volume, resilient systems—with strong emphasis on scalability, productivity, and uptime. Designing, implementing, maintaining, and enhancing high-complexity Fury services (e.g., BigQueue, KVS, OS, DS, Streams, etc.) so they can serve as foundational services for all applications within the Meli ecosystem. * Actively participating in the creation of new services arising from UN needs analysis or technological evolution, as well as in organizing, defining, and prioritizing the team’s backlog and roadmap. * Focusing on component reuse, task automation, and building supporting tools (e.g., CLIs), etc. * Engaging with development teams (e.g., handling support tickets, conducting surveys and talks) to understand their needs and improve developer experience—then fulfilling those needs through service development with strong emphasis on usability and documentation. **What we’re looking for:** * Backend development expertise in languages such as: Java, Go, NodeJS, REST APIs, Git, New Relic, Elastic, among others. * Knowledge of cloud-based services. * Experience with concurrent programming and high-throughput systems. * Availability to perform deployment, maintenance, or support tasks during nighttime hours. The most critical implementations of our solutions occur between 00:00 and 02:00\.
