Field Inspector Position – Substitute
ESG Urbes is a consulting firm specializing in engineering, architecture, environmental management, social work, and asset management.
The role requires on-site work along the contracted stretch across the states of MG, RJ, and SP, including driving the vehicle provided for this activity and accommodation in various cities along the project stretch according to the schedule; therefore, full availability for travel is essential. Key responsibilities include:
- Fieldwork conducting supervision and monitoring of the right-of-way, covering vacations and other absences of other staff assigned to the project (field inspectors and measurement assistants);
- Analyzing, identifying, recording, and notifying irregularities, including encroachments and improper use of the area or anomalies along the stretch;
- Capturing aerial images using drones and ground-level images, feeding and updating the management system with all identified occurrences;
- When not covering the field team, providing support to office routines by performing administrative tasks and assisting the supervisor and administrative technician.
Specific (Technical) Knowledge Requirements:
- Higher education or technical degree in engineering, law, or geography;
- Basic to intermediate computer skills and ease of use with digital devices — smartphones and systems;
- Proficiency in Google Earth and QGIS (preferred);
- Driver’s license — Category B (mandatory);
- Drone piloting experience is considered a plus.
Profile:
- A detail-oriented, meticulous professional capable of autonomously supervising the right-of-way, identifying encroachments, illegal occupations, geographical hazards, and other anomalies along the stretch.
- Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills for direct contact with occupants during field inspections, maintaining a firm, courteous, and technically sound approach.
- Strong commitment to safety is essential, strictly adhering to regulations, operational procedures, and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Additionally, keen observational ability, responsibility in documenting occurrences, and skill in reporting information accurately and clearly are expected.
- Availability for travel.
