




Job Summary: Performs duties exclusive to nursing assistants in patient care, adhering to biosafety standards in laboratory, SADT, and inpatient settings. Key Highlights: 1. Perform all duties exclusive to nursing assistants in patient care, in compliance with biosafety norms and procedures. **Responsibilities and Duties** Laboratory: * Identify beneficiaries using official identification documents and test requisitions. * Verify personal data on the beneficiary's identification wristband (Safe Identification). * Collect blood using sterile devices or needles, as well as receive other biological materials. \- Correctly label samples, meeting Goal 01 \- Patient Safety. * Confirm identification on collection tubes with the beneficiary. * Forward properly identified biological materials to the designated technical area. * Use internal cooperative information systems. * Receive, verify, and store collection materials, observing their expiration dates. * Maintain organization of collection booths and the work sector. SADT: * Provide comprehensive care to assigned patients according to the care plan, addressing hygiene, privacy, comfort, humanization, and safety needs, per established protocols. * Confirm full patient identification. * Prepare and administer medications to clients (excluding contrast agents) and perform low-complexity procedures per medical prescription. * Assist nurses and medical staff as required, within defined responsibilities. * Comply with Clinical and Patient Safety Protocols. * Observe, recognize, and describe signs and symptoms; document nursing notes and report changes. * Instruct and prepare patients and/or companions for examinations; confirm patient identity and collect relevant information for examination execution. * Prepare and organize procedure rooms. * Perform internal transfers together with transport assistants to the destination unit; accompany patient transportation. * Ensure continuity of care through shift handover and receipt. * Record in medical records, noting date, time, interventions, and/or patient incidents. * Assist in organizing medical records, maintaining all documents in chronological order. * Record pending issues related to patients, as well as other necessary information, in the Incident Logbook for team awareness. * Prepare and maintain materials required for medical and nursing activities. * Comply with the prohibition on wearing jewelry in the workplace. Inpatient Care: * Prepare patients for consultations, examinations, and treatments. * Observe, recognize, and describe vital signs and symptoms, within the scope of one’s qualification. * Carry out specifically prescribed or routine treatments, as well as other nursing activities. * Prepare and administer medications via oral, topical, intradermal, subcutaneous, intramuscular, intravenous, and rectal routes per medical prescription. * Perform peripheral venous puncture using aseptic techniques. * Provide hygiene and comfort measures to patients as needed, including bed baths, oral hygiene, and intimate hygiene, etc. * Monitor fluid balance. * Perform simple and/or low-complexity dressings. * Administer oxygen therapy, nebulization, enteroclysis, enema, and heat or cold applications. * Monitor patients and contacts of transmissible diseases. * Provide pre- and post-operative nursing care. * Implement infection control and prevention measures. * Follow medical and nursing care prescriptions. * Immobilize patients upon medical and/or nursing guidance. * Perform low-level disinfection activities. * Document nursing notes in electronic medical records. * Participate in safety huddles, responding promptly to requests from immediate supervisors to ensure continuity of departmental activities and patient safety. * Provide post-mortem care. * Provide hygiene and comfort care to patients and safeguard patient safety. * Feed patients or assist them with feeding. * Conduct hourly rounds, monitoring departmental incidents for documentation in medical records. * Control and return MAT/MED (materials and medications) dispensed by the pharmacy. * Use personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure one’s own and the patient’s safety. * Remove and dispose of service-related waste in appropriate locations. * Safeguard, maintain, preserve, and clean work equipment, tools, and materials. * Work in accordance with good practices, safety norms, and procedures. * Attend meetings when summoned. * Comply with scheduled training and development programs. * Adhere to norms and procedures regarding uniform use, time clock registration, working hours, shift schedules, vacation planning, etc. * Develop and suggest workflow processes and adopt optimization and rationalization measures to improve team and interdepartmental activities. * Report any irregularities or suspected fraud to management. * Inform supervisors about actions and activities carried out within one’s area of responsibility. * Perform other related duties, as determined by operational unit requirements, job nature, and work location/subsystem, per superior instruction. **Requirements and Qualifications** Required: * Completed Nursing Assistant course and ACTIVE registration with the professional regulatory council. * Experience in healthcare; internship experience may be considered.
