**Job Category** ================ Production & Skilled Trades**Position Summary** ==================== Assist in preventive, predictive, and corrective mechanical maintenance of utility equipment, based on maintenance plans and work orders issued by supervision, performing required analyses and interventions, as well as appropriate functional tests, to ensure uninterrupted operation without risks to operators or the process.**Responsibilities** ==================== * Implement continuous improvements to machinery by analyzing enhancement needs, preparing drawings and sketches, and submitting them for approval, to optimize performance and reduce maintenance costs. * Conduct daily rounds to verify oil levels, abnormal noises, and leaks in utility systems (compressors, pumps, and chillers). Replace air, oil, and drive belts per the preventive maintenance schedule. * Assist in repairing compressed air, industrial water, and steam piping by replacing gaskets, seals, and simple valves. Clean heat exchangers, cooling towers, and line filters to maintain thermal efficiency of systems. * Assist in installing fabricated parts onto machines, performing assembly, manual and automatic testing, adjustments, and calibrations to ensure functionality and operational durability. * Assist in executing preventive and corrective maintenance, following maintenance plans, evaluating replacement or repair needs, and requesting materials to ensure full machine functionality and prevent unplanned downtime. * Assist in lubricating parts, components, and accessories, applying correct lubricant types and appropriate quantities per maintenance plans, to extend equipment service life and maintain functionality. * Perform low-complexity repairs on lubrication systems, including replacement of parts and adjustments to piping, connections, and distributors, to prevent wear and operational failures. * Assist in analyzing hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams, interpreting circuits and detecting faults, to plan corrective and preventive interventions more effectively. * Apply 5S principles throughout mechanical maintenance activities—including welding, lubrication, and hydraulic/pneumatic interventions—to maintain organization and compliance with internal standards. Ensure workshop cleanliness and organization, and proper care of hand and pneumatic tools used during interventions. * Diagnose and resolve failures in production equipment within the Utilities area, using analytical tools and testing methods, to ensure operational continuity and reduce unplanned shutdown risks; record all interventions in work orders, detailing performed activities and parts used, to maintain an updated history and support future analysis. **Minimum Qualifications** ========================== * **Solid experience** in the role of Mechanical Maintenance Technician for small rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines, etc.); * **Education:** SENAI Industrial Mechanics course or technical mechanics qualification; * **Other Courses/Specific Knowledge/Skills:** Reading and interpretation of mechanical technical drawings / Material application / Lubrication processes / Hydraulics and pneumatics.
