Requirements: Develop and maintain accounting systems, working collaboratively and writing high-quality, secure, and system-aware code. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry standards aligned with Thomson Reuters, ensuring product quality and fulfillment of business requirements, thereby contributing to a positive customer experience. **Essential Technical Skills** PowerBuilder, .NET, and Databases: In-depth knowledge of DataWindows, PFC (PowerBuilder Foundation Classes), and integration with relational databases Solid experience developing desktop applications using PowerBuilder Ability to optimize SQL queries and understand Stored Procedures, Triggers, and Views Knowledge of Sybase SQL Anywhere, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server databases Experience handling large data volumes and awareness of PowerBuilder 32-bit limitations Knowledge of .NET and .NET–PowerBuilder integration (Garbage Collection, interoperability) Experience with Threads (both in .NET and PowerBuilder) Knowledge of PowerBuilder application migration or modernization to more current architectures (.NET, Web Services) **Responsibilities** Develop implementations, modifications, and fixes in the Domínio Accounting System using PowerBuilder and Sybase SQL Anywhere database Assess the impact of decisions and guide the team to minimize long-term issues Actively participate in code review processes Drive innovation and simplify processes with a focus on continuous improvement Work independently and support the team in solving complex problems Design and execute tests on developed code Review functional, technical, and/or project requirements Support the support team in resolving customer issues and remote access assistance Contribute to effort estimations by other team members Perform root cause analysis for medium/high-complexity issues Generate and maintain product-related documentation/technical manuals Actively participate and collaborate in meetings, processes, agile ceremonies, and cross-functional interactions Manage legal deadlines, planning, and tracking of scheduled versus actual time **Best Practices and Code Quality:** Application of relevant Design Patterns (MVC, Repository, Singleton, Factory) to improve maintainability and scalability Understanding and application of SOLID principles Experience in refactoring to reduce coupling and increase cohesion Adherence to Clean Code and best practices for readability Standardization of naming conventions, comments, and technical documentation Ability to interpret code and resolve issues based on established best practices and patterns **Methodologies and Tools:** Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban) Active participation in agile ceremonies (Daily Stand-up, Planning, Retrospective) Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools for backlog management and task tracking Knowledge of Git version control (branching strategy, pull requests) **Languages:** Proficiency in English reading and writing **Desirable Skills (Differentiators)** Familiarity with Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior Driven Development (BDD) Integration with CI/CD pipelines Experience developing accounting systems (journal entries, trial balance, financial statements, reports) and/or financial systems (Accounts Payable/Receivable, Finance, Banking Systems) Experience using Generative AI for coding Business knowledge related to Domínio products **Education/Certifications** Technical education or currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in: Software Engineering Information Systems Systems Analysis Information Technology Management Computer Science Computer Engineering Related fields
