At least 6 months of experience in Bed Regulation required. Nursing degree and professional registration with COREN. Responsibilities: Access and verify the census; Report bed occupancy to management; Address shift-start requests; Monitor bed occupancy, verify census and occupancy in the system; Submit occupancy data via the bed vacancy management system; Participate in and lead HUDDLE (multidisciplinary meeting aimed at monitoring and optimizing patient flow within the service); Complete internal spreadsheets and monitoring systems (PBH census, bed request spreadsheets, bed occupancy spreadsheet); Respond to telephone calls and bed vacancy requests; Discuss cases and support external and internal patient transfers; Reassign beds; Assist with discharge rotations; Secure isolation beds; Monitor admissions center registrations; Allocate post-surgical beds; Collaborate with the bed rotation team; Request external transfer vacancies; Contact social services and EMAD for specific needs; Identify and report overcrowding; Verify transportation requests; Assist in defining, evaluating, and prioritizing patients for bed allocation; Conduct active searches; Monitor beds; Identify and report incidents related to bed management; Monitor and update the Kanban board; Perform the census and submit it to the night shift staff.
