Application of good hygiene and food handling practices. #### **About the position:** We are seeking a Perishables Operator to work in our Savory Foods department, ensuring product quality, freshness, and presentation to our customers. The professional will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of savory foods in the store—from receipt through final display—while adhering to strict hygiene and food safety standards. #### **Main responsibilities:** * Receive, inspect, and store perishable products (savory foods) according to company standards and good food handling practices. * Prepare, bake, fry, and/or finish savory foods as per established procedures. * Organize and restock products on shelves and display counters, ensuring visual appeal and consistent availability. * Monitor product expiration dates and properly discard items unfit for consumption. * Maintain cleanliness and organization of the savory foods section, equipment, and utensils, following hygiene and food safety guidelines. * Serve customers courteously, providing product information and assisting with selection, weighing, and packaging. * Identify and report any nonconformities or issues related to products or departmental equipment. #### **Mandatory requirements:** * Completed high school education. * Prior experience in this role or related areas, preferably in supermarkets, bakeries, or establishments handling food. * Knowledge of and ability to apply good hygiene and food handling practices. * Availability to work various shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidays. #### **Desirable qualifications (advantage):** * Training in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or food handling. * Experience operating ovens, deep fryers, and other industrial kitchen equipment. * Skill in organizing and displaying products to optimize sales. * Proactivity, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills.
