The department conducts research and teaching in the fields of construction processes, building technology, geotechnics, geomatics, marine civil engineering, water and wastewater engineering, hydraulic engineering, roads, railways, and transport. Teaching is offered at both bachelor’s and master’s levels. We also offer several national and international study programs, and approximately 130 candidates are enrolled in the department’s PhD program. This position is part of the technical staff team, which consists of 14 employees. We are a diverse group that collaborates closely across disciplines. You will report to the laboratory manager, and your workplace will be the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Campus Gløshaugen in Trondheim. Key responsibilities Planning and conducting model and laboratory experiments Co-responsibility for daily operation of the hydraulic laboratory, including arranging and training on equipment use and implementing HSE routines Supervising students during laboratory work Assisting subject teachers during laboratory courses Performing maintenance of laboratory equipment and instruments Assisting in project execution Qualification requirements Relevant university or college education equivalent to at least a bachelor’s degree, e.g., in building technology, hydraulic engineering, or mechanical engineering. Salary and terms For the position of section engineer (code 1085), the standard salary range is gross NOK 620,000–700,000 per year, depending on qualifications and seniority.
