### **About Amigos do Bem**
**ABOUT AMIGOS DO BEM**
Our work began in 1993 with a small group of friends led by Alcione Albanesi. Today, we are one of the largest social projects in the country and regularly serve over 150,000 people in the Sertão region of Alagoas, Pernambuco, and Ceará.
We transform thousands of lives through continuous projects in education, income generation, and access to water, housing, and healthcare. We are breaking a centuries-old cycle of poverty in the Sertão. With opportunities, over 10,000 children and youth already envision a different future.
**WHY THE NORTHEASTERN SERTÃO?**
A place where millions of people are born, suffer, and die without hope for the future.
Unequal income distribution and abandonment are aggravated by drought, condemning millions of Northeasterners to extreme poverty.
**MISSION**
We transform lives through education and self-sustaining projects capable of promoting local development and social inclusion, eradicating hunger and poverty.
**VALUES**
Solidarity | Humanity | Transparency
**WHY WORK AT AMIGOS DO BEM**
If you believe that transforming Brazil is everyone’s responsibility and that the only way to break the cycle of poverty is through human intervention, then this is where you belong.
Join us to build a purpose-driven career—looking toward the future and working so that this transformation model can be replicated across various regions of Brazil and the world. Be part of this wave of solidarity, because only then will hunger and poverty be remembered as historical facts.
