Management of Contracted Companies** * Negotiation and Contract Skills: Ability to negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers and contracted companies, while ensuring contractual obligations are fulfilled. * Relationship Management: Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and contractors to ensure timely, within-scope, and on-budget service delivery. * Performance Evaluation of Contractors: Ability to monitor contractor performance, ensuring quality and safety, and making decisions regarding contract continuation or revision when necessary. **2\. Cost Management** * Budgetary Control: Ability to manage project budgets, identify cost reduction opportunities, and control the impact of potential operational cost increases. * Financial Analysis: Ability to conduct detailed cost analysis, understand budget variances, and take corrective actions when required. * Forecasting and Cost Planning: Competence in developing cost forecasts based on real and historical data to efficiently plan financial resource allocation. **3\. Tailings Planning and Design of Tailings/Overburden Stacks** * Geotechnical and Environmental Planning: Technical knowledge of tailings behavior, safe and sustainable disposal strategies, and development of plans minimizing environmental impacts. * Tailings Stack Modeling and Sizing: Ability to use geotechnical and modeling software to design tailings stacks, considering stability, drainage, and risk management. * Environmental Impact Management: Assessment and mitigation of impacts related to tailings disposal, focusing on preventing soil and water contamination and complying with regulatory requirements. **4\. Monthly Plan Reconciliation** * Performance vs. Planning Analysis: Ability to perform monthly reconciliation of mining operation performance against the original plan, identifying deviations, analyzing root causes, and adjusting planning as needed. * Production and Logistics Monitoring: Continuous monitoring of production and material movement to ensure achievement of monthly plan targets, including volume control and movement of tailings and overburden. * Management Reporting: Production of clear and detailed performance reports with indicators supporting senior management decision-making. **5\. Development and Implementation of KPIs** * Definition of Performance Indicators (KPIs): Ability to develop clear and relevant KPIs for monitoring operational performance, covering areas such as safety, operational efficiency, quality, and costs. * KPI Monitoring and Analysis: Ability to interpret KPI data, identify improvement opportunities, and adjust processes or practices to optimize operations and achieve corporate objectives. * Dashboards and Reporting: Creation of KPI visualization systems, such as dashboards, enabling management to monitor performance in real time and make data-driven decisions. **6\. Fleet Sizing** * Required number of equipment: Based on the volume of tailings to be moved, vehicle capacity, and distance between locations, it is necessary to calculate the optimal number of trucks and excavators to maintain efficient operations. * Cycle time calculation: The time required to transport material from the extraction area to the tailings stack, including loading, hauling, and unloading. Haul distance and transport time: Consideration of the average haul distance between extraction areas and the tailings stack, affecting vehicle count and cycle time. * Equipment operational efficiency: Determination of effective operating hours per shift and equipment efficiency in terms of fuel consumption, wear, and maintenance. Calculation of tailings volume to be moved: Estimation of daily tailings volume (in cubic meters or tons) to be transported. * Tailings generation rate: Consideration of the tailings generation rate from mining operations, taking into account mineral production and tailings proportion. Projection of tailings stack growth: Analysis of expected stack growth, considering mine life and increasing tailings volume **Requirements and Qualifications** **Required Qualifications:** * Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or Production Engineering; * Experience in tailings stack operations; * Advanced knowledge of Excel and Power BI; * Proficiency in cost and contract management tools; * Planning and Modeling Software: Proficiency in mining-specific software such as AutoCAD, Whittle, Deswik, Vulcan, among others, for tailings stack design and waste/overburden disposal planning; * Knowledge and skills in SAP; * Experience in fleet sizing; * Willingness to reside in Aripuanã-MT; **Desirable Qualifications:** * Postgraduate degree and/or Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Project Management; * Basic knowledge of hydrology and drainage systems. **Additional Information** ***Nexa believes in fostering a plural environment where everyone feels welcome and comfortable being themselves.*** We are one of the world’s largest zinc producers!
