




• Provide direct patient care through the systematic delivery of nursing services, monitoring and documenting observations, care, and procedures performed. • Administer medications, perform wound dressings, observe, recognize, and describe signs and symptoms. • Collect specimens for laboratory tests. • Provide special pre- and post-operative care. • Provide hygiene and comfort care to patients, residents, and convalescents, and ensure their safety. • Perform post-mortem procedures. • Report to the nurse any changes and/or clinical evolution observed in the patient. • Carry out nursing care related to patient hygiene and mobilization within the units. • Perform venous puncture, nasoenteral and bladder catheterization when necessary. • Record complications or notifications in the logbook. • Receive and hand over shifts with the nursing team, observing the patient’s clinical progression and condition, providing necessary information to ensure continuity of care. • Guide family members during visiting hours. • Prepare pharmacy and warehouse requisitions according to unit routine. • Receive, verify, and store requested medications, supplies, and clothing. • Keep patient medical records and/or files updated and organized. • Maintain control over hospital medical equipment, medications, and other resources within the unit, ensuring proper functioning for patient care and requesting maintenance from the immediate supervisor as needed. • Assist the medical team and nurses when required. • Clean and disinfect departmental materials and equipment. • Verify specimens to be sent to the pathology laboratory.
