**Description:** Completion of higher education / Postgraduate degree. Registration with the relevant professional council. Field: Speech-Language Pathology. Diagnose, treat, and conduct research. Validate, request, develop, and perform examinations. Prescribe speech-language pathology interventions for inpatients and outpatients. Assess, diagnose, and treat communication and voice disorders. Provide guidance and follow-up for patients with functional and organic dysphonias. Conduct audiologic and immittance testing to assess whether patients’ auditory function is normal or presents any type of impairment. Perform clinical evaluations related to sucking, chewing, swallowing, breathing, incorrect tongue positioning, and difficulties or inability to safely swallow food—termed dysphagia. Conduct assessments, diagnoses, prognoses, and establish treatments for patients with impairments affecting functions related to the head and neck region. Issue expert opinions, reports, and/or documentation. Supervise and follow up patients after hospital discharge and/or rehabilitation programs. Provide speech-language pathology guidance to multidisciplinary teams, patients and their families, students, interns, and professionals in training during educational activities.
