Capture or remove animals from the roadway and/or medians using appropriate equipment available in operational vehicles and the Animal Capture Truck. Contain and extinguish small fire outbreaks using dedicated equipment available in operational vehicles or the Water Tanker Truck. Inspect construction works and services occurring within the right-of-way using operational vehicles and the Works and Services Manual available in patrol vehicles. Monitor oversized loads by driving the operational vehicle and reviewing documentation related to such loads. Inspect the company’s right-of-way by patrolling a designated highway stretch, identifying ongoing constructions or general services, installed billboards or signage, requesting presentation of authorization granted by the company for execution of services and/or construction, releasing them if no irregularities are found, or requesting removal or demolition by the responsible party; additionally, contacting, via OCC, the State or Federal Highway Police or the Supervisor to obtain reinforcements for process completion. Conduct or support operations related to assisting pedestrians in hazardous positions, fallen signage from ongoing highway construction, removal of fallen highway signage from risk zones, suppression of incipient fires, removal of objects from the roadway (e.g., debris, wood, bumper fragments, cardboard, etc.), and removal of live or deceased animals from the roadway—taking all appropriate actions. Verify whether signage for highway construction, improvements, and maintenance complies with company standards, guided by previously received sketches; halting work if irregularities or operational risks are identified until resolved or new instructions are received from OCC. Identify possible deficiencies in signage (regulatory, informative, or warning signs) or on the roadway (potholes, damaged barriers, cleanliness, washing), photographing the location and forwarding suggestions or information to OCC, which then engages responsible departments for analysis and operations. Propose improvements to signage, infrastructure, drainage, and roadway safety, submitting proposals for review and validation by the Supervisor. Respond to collisions or accidents, collecting information from users/victims, witnesses, and highway police indicating probable causes and conditions (e.g., potholes, missing signage, speeding, water or oil on the roadway, driver under the influence, etc.), recording personal data of drivers and passengers, and details of involved vehicles (license plate, type, tire condition, damages, etc.), documenting damage to company assets (metal guardrails, concrete barriers, signage), and photographing the entire affected area, vehicles, and victims. Provide collected accident response information to OCC for integration into the Traffic Accident Response Report and ensure the official police report includes identical information.
