Description

Assist the pattern maker in the creation, development, and preparation of molds and prototypes for leather goods, ensuring accurate interpretation of drawings, proper material preparation, and support during initial cutting and assembly stages, thereby contributing to product quality, standardization, and production process efficiency. Job Requirements Education * **Mandatory:** Completed high school education. * **Desirable (advantage):** Technical training or qualification in: Leather goods pattern making Apparel pattern making Fashion design Cutting and sewing or related fields. Experience * **Desirable:** Prior experience in the leather goods, apparel, footwear, or related industries; Hands-on experience in cutting, assembly, or pattern-making support activities. Material preparation * **Select and prepare leather** and other materials (linings, reinforcements, hardware) according to the pattern maker’s instructions. * Verify **leather thickness, texture, and characteristics**, flagging inconsistencies or defects. Organization, documentation, and support * **Organize and maintain** the pattern-making area clean, with tools and molds properly labeled. * Assist in **cataloging and archiving physical and/or digital molds**, ensuring standardization and easy retrieval. * Support the pattern maker in **simple administrative tasks**, such as completing technical specification sheets, sample tracking records, and documentation of model modifications. * Facilitate **communication with the cutting and assembly teams**, clarifying questions about patterns, markings, and technical details whenever directed by the pattern maker. Prototyping and adjustments * Participate in **prototype assembly** for pattern testing, fit evaluation, functionality assessment, and finish inspection. * Assist in **identifying mold issues** (e.g., excess material, gaps, misalignment, assembly difficulties) and propose adjustments to the pattern maker. * Implement pattern modifications and **adjust molds** per received instructions, ensuring updated versions are correctly archived.
