Description
We are seeking a **Senior Database Administrator** with strong expertise in **PostgreSQL and MySQL** to join our team. Experience with additional database technologies such as **SQL Server and MongoDB** is a strong advantage. This role also involves working with **cloud\-native database services** across providers such as **AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure**. Candidates with **database migration experience** will be given preference.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Design, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL and MySQL databases in production environments
* Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization of database systems
* Perform database migrations (on\-premises to cloud and cross\-cloud environments)
* Troubleshoot and resolve database issues across development, testing, and production environments
* Implement database monitoring, backup strategies, and security best practices
* Collaborate with development, DevOps, and data teams on schema design, query tuning, and ETL pipelines
* Participate in capacity planning, cost optimization, and automation initiatives
* Document database systems, configurations, procedures, and runbooks
Requirements:
**Required Qualifications:**
* 4 years of hands\-on experience with PostgreSQL in production environments
* 4 years of experience with MySQL
* Experience with at least one public cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including managed database services (e.g., RDS, Cloud SQL)
* Strong SQL skills with a solid understanding of indexing, query optimization, and partitioning
* Proven knowledge of backup \& recovery strategies, replication, and high\-availability configurations
* Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible)
* Experience supporting database migration projects (e.g., PostgreSQL to cloud, MongoDB to Atlas, SQL Server upgrades)
* Familiarity with MongoDB, SQL Server, Neo4j, or other NoSQL databases
* Experience with ETL tools, BigQuery, or data warehousing concepts
* Relevant certifications (PostgreSQL, MySQL, AWS, GCP, or Azure)
* Exposure to DevOps practices and infrastructure\-as\-code tools
