Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Scientist for a Toxicology/Microbiology laboratory, focused on cell culture, genotoxicity, and toxicological studies in a regulated environment.

The Toxicology/Microbiology laboratory is seeking a candidate to fill the Senior Scientist position.
This candidate must have a minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in cell culture. Strong hands-on experience conducting genotoxicity and toxicological studies in accordance with internationally accepted guidelines (OECD, EPA, and ISO). Practical experience reading and interpreting slides from the micronucleus assay. Experience working in a regulated environment, including knowledge and application of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP). Familiarity with quality systems based on ABNT NBR ISO/IEC 17025, including data recording, traceability, and documentary compliance. Advanced English proficiency.
Additional experience includes knowledge of non-animal methods (NAMs). The candidate must be a team player, demonstrate NSF’s core values and ethics, and possess the ability to handle chemicals safely.
Responsibilities: Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Performing defined analyses and tests related to Toxicology and Microbiology activities (preparation of culture media and solutions, characterization, growth, and maintenance of cell lines);
* Developing and validating methods for analyses and studies related to the Toxicology and Microbiology department;
* Preparing documents (Standard Operating Procedures) and performing periodic reviews of existing documents;
* Organizing routine activities under the guidance of the department manager, providing support for selected tasks as required;
* Training technicians on new tests and activities;
* Maintaining reference materials (standards and cell lines);
* Performing statistical analysis of results;
* Reviewing and recording raw data;
* Entering results into the LIMS system;
* Requesting purchase of materials and reagents;
* Supervising routine activities (organization and cleaning);
* Cryopreserving cell cultures;
* Decontamination, disposal, washing, and sterilization of materials, as well as monitoring the effectiveness of these processes;
