Our journey toward becoming one of the largest regional companies in the tire retail sector began on September 7, 1972, with the inauguration of "Borracharia Nossa Senhora Aparecida". Located in São José do Rio Preto, in the interior of São Paulo state, it was founded by Mr. Orestes Zanfolin (a former bus driver) and initially employed only one person. Later, the business was handed over to his youngest son. In 1979, another tire shop—"Borracharia do Cacau"—was acquired in the Boa Vista neighborhood, also employing just one staff member. From these two establishments, the company Silcar Pneus Ltda. was formally established in April 1985, using the initials of the names “Silvio” and “Carlos”, initially trading in new, retreaded, and used tires. In 1988, Silcar opened its own tire retreading plant, also located in São José do Rio Preto. With imported machinery and a strong focus on carcass quality and other raw materials, the final product achieved wide market acceptance and high quality standards, making the group increasingly competitive and structured. At the beginning of the 1990s, the company shifted its focus toward opening and acquiring retail stores and expanding service offerings through its automotive centers, actively seeking partnerships with multinational tire manufacturers operating in Brazil—including an initial partnership with Pirelli, followed later by Michelin, and today with Continental. In subsequent years, Silcar Pneus expanded its product portfolio, consolidating its presence in the heavy-duty and agricultural tire markets. Gradually, we began serving not only large truck fleets but also independent truck drivers—the backbone of our nation—and entered the commercial vehicle tire retreading segment through a specialized plant located in Araraquara. Within the agricultural tire segment, we facilitate supply to selected implementers and serve Brazilian farmers directly. We are honored to contribute, in any way possible, to Brazil’s agribusiness sector. Today, the Silcar Pneus Group operates 27 retail stores across the states of São Paulo, Goiás, and Mato Grosso do Sul; a Truck Center in Marília-SP; and nearly 300 employees—all working daily to deliver service at the highest quality standards. We operate a state-of-the-art retreading plant in Araraquara equipped with some of the most advanced equipment in the industry, and distribute light- and heavy-duty tires through wholesale distribution centers located in São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Goiás, and Mato Grosso do Sul.
