Senior Software Engineer (PJ) | 100% Remote We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join Paag and help build robust, scalable, and event-driven solutions, with a strong emphasis on backend development and integration with AI pipelines. If you possess technical autonomy, architectural vision, and hands-on experience in production environments, this opportunity may be for you. Your responsibilities will include: * Develop and evolve high-performance APIs and microservices * Design and implement distributed and event-driven system architectures * Work with AI pipelines and integrations with language models * Ensure code quality, testing, and adherence to engineering best practices * Actively participate in technical decisions and code reviews **Contract Model** Individual Contractor (PJ) Mandatory Requirements **Education** * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related fields **Experience** * Solid experience of more than 5 years as a Software Engineer, with a backend focus. **Backend** * Strong experience with Python (3\.11\+) * Strict typing and asynchronous programming (async/await) * FastAPI, Uvicorn, and Pydantic v2 * SQLAlchemy 2\.0, Alembic, AsyncPG, and psycopg2 * PostgreSQL 15 (schema design, indexing, complex queries, and migrations) * Redis (caching, pub/sub, and state management) * Microservice architecture * REST APIs * Domain-driven design * Resilience strategies (retry, fallback, etc.) Nice-to-Have **AI LLM** * LangChain, LangGraph — orchestration of agents and multi-step workflows * Pydantic AI — structured integration with models * RAG pipelines — chunking, embedding, retrieval, reranking * Tool use / function calling with language models * Providers: Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic * Evaluation and observability of LLM pipelines **Cloud Infrastructure** * AWS: S3, SNS, SQS, ECS, ECR, IAM, Athena * Docker — multi-stage builds, image optimization * GitHub Actions — CI/CD, build/test/deploy workflows * Environment variables, secrets management, environment-specific configuration **Frontend (support and code reading only)** * TypeScript 5, React 18, Next.js 14 App Router * Tanstack React Query, Zod, React Hook Form * Tailwind CSS, Radix UI Profile We Seek * Autonomy and ownership mindset * Ability to make technical decisions based on trade-offs * Hands-on experience with asynchronous systems in production * Practical experience applying AI (LLMs) * Strong communication and collaboration skills within the team Perks of Being a Paagunho (a) * Competitive salary * Bradesco health insurance with no copayment * Bradesco dental insurance with no copayment * Life insurance * TotalPass * Paid break during the workday * Birthday day off Interested or know someone who fits this profile?
