Join us at Landis\+Gyr, **where we manage energy more efficiently.** As a **Java Software Developer**, your primary mission will be to collaborate with your team to design, develop, and maintain high-quality software applications for Smart Grid technologies. This role requires technical expertise to deliver according to specifications set by the Product Owner/Program Manager. You will also participate in code reviews, bug investigations, and contribute to knowledge sharing among team members. **Key Responsibilities:** Develop Smart Grid-focused applications in collaboration with multicultural and multidisciplinary teams, based on requirements gathered by the Product Manager (PM) from customers. Design, develop, and maintain scalable software using Java/J2EE and open-source technologies, consistently applying Agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe. Address issues by interacting with relevant teams, analyzing system specifications, and documenting actions taken. Actively engage in the end-to-end software development lifecycle—from requirement inception through delivery of new features and continuous improvement. Apply best programming practices: writing clean code (Clean Code), achieving unit test coverage, and performing refactoring. Communicate clearly and present technical information concisely and effectively to global teams. **What We Expect From You:** Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Systems Analysis and Development, or Computer/Electrical/Electronic Engineering. Advanced English proficiency for technical and corporate communication. Experience with Java/J2EE in scalable enterprise applications. Experience with Akka or Pekko for distributed and concurrent systems. Proficiency in JPA, Hibernate, and JDBC for efficient data persistence and access. Knowledge of relational databases: PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Oracle. Familiarity with Agile methodologies: Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe.
