Reporting to the Lab Manager, the Software Development Analyst III – Edge AI role involves... Key day-to-day responsibilities:* Lead technically and perform the development of systems, components, and applications for different platforms, coding programs based on provided technical documentation, adhering to established development standards (Design Patterns) and FIT technical guidelines to meet the requirements specified in the technical scope of the solution. * Modify programs and/or system routines, changing processing logic, code, and other elements to correct defects and/or accommodate system changes and new requirements. * Perform unit testing in a development environment to verify that the program runs correctly within specified requirements and meets appropriate performance standards. * Correct defects identified during the solution testing process to comply with software quality procedures. * Create supplementary documentation such as "helps", operating instructions, or consistency adjustment guides. * Recommend and/or implement new software development procedures as needed, describing methods and operational steps in a standardized sequence according to the quality assurance system, aiming for continuous improvement. * Identify new methodologies, technological standards, and innovative solutions representing the state-of-the-art in software development through related research, participation in discussion forums, and events with business partners, enabling the development of new technical competencies based on novel software testing methodologies. * Act as a knowledge multiplier, providing technical support to peers. * Perform other related or inherent activities associated with work processes. The experience we are looking for:* Bachelor’s degree completed in Data Processing, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or other Computer Science or Information Technology fields. * Proficiency in programming logic and object-oriented programming. * Agile methodology (Scrum). * Version control tools (Github, Bitbucket). * Microcomputing (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint). * Technical English (for reading libraries, scientific articles, and documentation). Desirable* Proficiency in Python and C/C++ for development on embedded systems with AI. * Experience with embedded AI frameworks such as TensorFlow Lite, PyTorch Mobile, ONNX Runtime, OpenVINO, or Edge Impulse. * Experience deploying machine learning models on edge devices (Jetson Nano/Xavier, Raspberry Pi, Coral TPU, etc.). * Familiarity with collecting, processing, and normalizing data from vision, sound, or motion sensors. * Expertise in model optimization techniques for embedded devices (quantization, pruning, conversion). * Experience with embedded computer vision (e.g., OpenCV, MediaPipe, YOLOv5/v8). * Knowledge of sensor communication buses and protocols (I2C, SPI, UART). * Proficiency in embedded Linux and tools such as SSH, SCP, systemd. * Experience with containers (Docker) and lightweight orchestration (Balena, K3s). * Experience with real-time inference (real-time ML). * Knowledge in robotics or integration with actuators. * Participation in R&D projects involving embedded AI. * Technical publications or participation in hackathons focused on AI/IoT. * Experience with MLOps or model update pipelines at the edge.
