Job Summary: Responsible for operating a backhoe loader in the installation, maintenance, and repair of sewer networks, ensuring safety and operational efficiency. Key Highlights: 1. Follow safety procedures and work collaboratively in a team Responsible for operating a backhoe loader in the installation, maintenance, and repair of sewer collector networks, supporting field teams in excavation, soil handling, and road restoration, ensuring safety and operational efficiency. **Responsibilities and Duties** * Operate backhoe loaders or similar machinery to support maintenance, construction, and intervention activities on sewer networks and operational fronts. * Perform excavations, backfilling, loading, and material handling while adhering to signage, utility interference awareness, and safety standards. * Support field teams in trench opening and restoration according to supervisor instructions and scheduled plans. * Conduct daily equipment inspections, complete checklists, perform basic lubrication, and report maintenance needs. * Maintain equipment integrity by operating safely and economically, avoiding damage to existing utilities and urban infrastructure. * Comply with safety procedures, including area isolation, team communication, and defensive driving. * Record operational activities and hours worked per established controls. * Support activities across various locations within the regional area as required. **Requirements and Qualifications** * Completed elementary education; high school education preferred. * Proven experience as a backhoe loader operator (or equivalent equipment) in urban construction, sanitation, or infrastructure projects. * Knowledge of safe excavation practices, identification of underground utility interferences, and operation on public roads. * Valid Brazilian driver’s license (Category B); Category compatible with equipment operation per legislation and internal policy is desirable. * Training or certification in machinery operation and safety practices is considered an advantage. * Availability for fieldwork, travel, and emergency response. * Responsible profile with strong attention to safety and equipment preservation. * Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team. * Availability for on-site work in Petrolina/PE. **Additional Information** **BENEFITS:** Medical assistance; Dental assistance; Life insurance; Transportation allowance; Meal voucher and/or food allowance; Profit-sharing program (PLR); **VITA Sertão** is the sanitation concessionaire created to drive development in the Sertão region of Pernambuco.
