Optimize applications for high load and efficiency As a **Software Engineer Backend** at Mercado Livre, you will design and scale innovative and secure systems that solve real-world, high-impact problems. You will work in a dynamic environment leveraging cutting-edge technology, applying engineering best practices, proprietary AI models, and continuous learning — all aimed at democratizing e-commerce and financial services across Latin America. Imagine yourself leading challenging, dynamic, and innovative projects, and being responsible for: * Optimizing applications to handle high load and ensure efficient response times for performance and scalability. * Integrating internal and external services, ensuring effective communication between APIs. * Maintaining and refactoring existing code to ensure it remains clean, efficient, and aligned with best practices. * Staying up-to-date with technological trends and changes, implementing continuous improvements. * Ensuring applications are secure against vulnerabilities and adhering to security best practices. * Supporting the team in designing robust architectural solutions to meet evolving product requirements. **What we’re looking for:** * Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs. * Experience developing with Java Spring or Go. * Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases (BigQuery, NoSQL (MongoDB and Redis), SQL (MySQL)). * Experience with software design principles such as SOLID and microservices-oriented design. * Experience with unit, integration, and regression testing.
