





**Summary:** Hiring a professional to work as a Mid-level Researcher in a testing and analysis laboratory for materials, with emphasis on polymers. Candidates must have completed higher education in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or related fields, and proven experience in the analysis of polymeric materials (thermoplastics and elastomers), as well as in interpreting results obtained using the following characterization techniques: mechanical tests (tensile strength, compressive strength, impact resistance, among others); chemical analyses involving FTIR; physical tests (density, dimensional evaluation, accelerated aging, among others); thermal analyses (DSC and TGA); and morphological evaluation through optical microscopy, SEM and EDS. **Job Responsibilities:** Manage and conduct activities in response to company or laboratory project demands. Plan and perform characterization tests, interpret results and propose technological solutions. * Client support, preparation of quotes for tests, analyses and technical services; * Interpretation of testing and analysis standards and procedures (ABNT, ASTM, ISO, etc); * Perform tasks in Research and Development projects and technical services; * Development and review of test procedures and result worksheets; * Preparation of technical reports and assessments; * Interpretation of results from thermal and chemical analyses, physical and mechanical tests, and morphological evaluation of polymeric materials and elastomers; * Knowledge of formulations and additives for thermoplastic and elastomeric materials; * Conduct laboratory tests; * Statistical analysis of results; * Develop and validate result worksheets including uncertainty estimates; * Define scopes for new material, formulation, process and application projects focused on polymers. **Job Requirements:** **Essential:** * Proven experience in research and development involving polymeric materials (thermoplastics and elastomers). * Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint). * Ability to interpret results obtained using the following characterization techniques: mechanical tests (tensile strength, compressive strength, impact resistance, among others); chemical analyses involving FTIR; physical tests (density, dimensional evaluation, accelerated aging, among others); thermal analyses (DSC and TGA); and morphological evaluation through optical microscopy, SEM and EDS. * Intermediate English proficiency. **Education:** * Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or related fields; **Desirable:** * Postgraduate degree in polymers; * Experience with project management tools; * Knowledge of design and simulation tools; * Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001 and/or ABNT NBR ISO 17025); * Knowledge of biopolymers, polymer matrix composites and bio-based composites. **Salary Range:** R$ 11,000.00 to 11,550.00 **Work Location:** IPT – Instituto de Pesquisas Tecnológicas – Address: Av.
