Job Summary: Assist in the operation of water/wastewater/leachate treatment systems and waste incinerators, monitoring, feeding, and supporting maintenance to ensure final product quality. Key Highlights: 1. Assistance in water, wastewater, and residue treatment operations. 2. Monitoring and control of incineration and treatment systems. 3. Contribution to the operation and quality of operational systems. Assist in operational activities for systems such as: Water Treatment Plants (WTP), Wastewater Treatment Plants (WSP), Leachate Treatment Plants (LTP), waste incinerators, among others—supporting system operation, feeding, and monitoring; assisting with valve handling; contributing to chemical dosing applications; assisting with partial and full quality analyses of the product; monitoring for possible deviations from established parameters; reporting and/or assisting in appropriate corrective actions, aiming to support full plant operation with the desired final product quality. **Responsibilities and Duties** **Work Locations: Treatment Plants (WTP/WSP/LTP)** * Assist in maintaining controls over chemicals required for operations, reporting replenishment needs, supporting storage, organization, recordkeeping, tracking deliveries and unloading by suppliers, monitoring for potential environmental damage, ensuring compliance with PPE and engineering controls (EPC) to guarantee material availability for operations; * Assist in quality control of received chemicals, helping evaluate density, color, etc., comparing against certificates of analysis and other necessary precautions; * Assist in monitoring the raw water intake channel, observing conductivity and pH, supporting operation of feeding equipment and structures, contributing to maintaining system functionality according to required quality and quantity parameters; * Assist in monitoring the clarification stage inlet, checking and supporting adjustments to chemical dosages (caustic soda, sodium hypochlorite, PAC, polymers, etc.), assisting in pump regulation activities to ensure programmed water quality; * Contribute to monitoring system components (intake channels, pumps, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, homogenization, centrifugation, flotation, etc.), assisting in checking for vibrations, noises, chemical injection, and equipment cleaning, aiming to enable perfect * system operation with final product quality; * Assist in cleaning and maintaining systems, helping operate sand filter controls, valve maneuvers, replacement of filter elements, supporting backwash processes, manual cleaning, and other mechanisms to remove impurities and maintain water treatment system indicators; * Assist in monitoring water quality at various process stages, collecting samples, supporting analyses of conductivity, turbidity, chlorine, etc., and adjusting chemical dosages to achieve expected quality; * Assist in monitoring water quality at process completion, comparing results against established parameters and monitoring flows and applicable adjustments to maximize production while meeting required quality; * Contribute to laboratory analyses across different stages of the water treatment process, using certain measurement and precision instruments, recording some results for control and/or audit purposes; * Assist in flow, pH, and Dissolved Oxygen (DO) control for sludge (wastewater) sedimentation, collecting samples, supporting documentation, and reporting any parameter changes in chemicals used for wastewater treatment; * Assist in sludge (wastewater) removal via centrifuge, operating pumps, supporting chemical addition to maintain microbial concentration; * Assist in floatation unit operation, adding chemicals and operating pumps to enable transfer of residues (wastewater) meeting required environmental standards. **Work Locations: Incineration and Co-processing** * Assist in performing the incineration process checklist, verifying waste types and codes, destination tanks, schedules, etc., following procedural step-by-step instructions, adjusting and monitoring panel indicators, making notes and optical readings to initiate liquid waste operations; * Assist in operating incineration system equipment, such as pneumatic and electric pumps, compressors, etc., pressing buttons, operating valves, relying on laboratory analysis approvals and waste specifications, and proceeding per given instructions to execute transfers * or incinerator operations; * Assist in operating incinerator valves, regulating specified quantities to burners, monitoring overall process performance—including potential leaks, jams, explosions, accidents, environmental damage, or chemical reactions—to ensure operation and production meet targeted standards; * Handle drums, barrels, and other solid waste containers using forklifts, performing optical readings, placing them into appropriate elevators, pressing buttons, monitoring process flow and control panel indicators (temperature, oxygen), to verify proper operation progress against expected standards; * Continuously monitor the furnace via viewing port, watching for possible obstructions, jams, waste flow, and other necessary precautions; * Assist in operating systems integrated with the incinerator, such as liquid transfers, drum compaction and calcination, gas washing, instrument handling, etc., preparing loads, operating pneumatic pumps, actuating valves, aligning waste routing, assembling/disassembling components, removing lances, and supporting maintenance teams when needed to fulfill complementary system requirements; * Perform various documentation tasks per given instructions or procedures to control operations. **Common Activities Across All Work Locations:** * Monitor suppliers, reporting and verifying operational processes to validate systems for implementation; * Participate in emergency operations, increasing pressure or modifying procedures, conducting tests and simulations to immediately resolve issues and ensure full restoration of operational processes; * Remain vigilant for unsafe acts or conditions within internal or third-party teams, reporting and/or taking preventive measures per institutional instructions; * Maintain operational interfaces with clients, identifying their needs or satisfaction levels to guide system feeding and operation; * Perform other tasks of similar nature and complexity, as directed by supervisor. * Comply with policies, procedures, and standards established by the specific management system, using preventive equipment, observing regulatory norms and procedures, reporting deviations, and proposing corrections for unsafe acts to contribute to implementing and maintaining normative, legal, and SGI-regulating provisions;
